A visual essay that unearths the unsettling foreign feelings sitting just below the translucent surface of familiar moments.
Tash McCammon is an artist, poet, and explorer with an Honours degree in ekphrastic poetry who has also studied photography, philosophy, and english literature.
Tash’s work ignores the boundaries between disciplines – utilising everything from video to installation, sound art, analogue mediums, photography, and map-making to unpack themes such as spatial occupation, language and identity, margins or silence in art.
Currently living and working in both Spain and Australia, Tash is preparing for a residency on a Barkentine Tall Ship that will travel around the archipelago Svalbard, eleven degrees from the North Pole.
